Best evidences summary on enteral nutrition management in preterm infants

Abstract:Objective:To summarize the best evidences on enteral nutrition management in preterm infants.Methods:Literature on preterm infant feeding was retrieved from the Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Healthcare Center Database,the Cochrane Library,BMJ Best Practice,PubMed,EMbase,Web of Science,CNKI,VIP Database,CBM,and Wanfang Data from database establishment to March 31,2023.The literature quality was evaluated.Data was extracted.And evidences were graded by research team.Results:A total of 10 pieces of literature were included,comprising 3 systematic reviews,3 expert consensus,2 guidelines,and 2 evidence summaries.A total of 20 evidences were summarized from 5 aspects,namely assessment of nutritional tolerance,posture management,enteral nutrition methods,implementation monitoring,and nutrition management in special diseases or contexts.Conclusions:The summarized best evidences on enteral nutrition management in preterm infants provided evidence-based foundation for enteral nutrition management and nursing of preterm infants.Healthcare professionals were advised to select best evidences based on clinical conditions to promote optimal growth and development in preterm infants.
