Best evidences summary on assessment and management of cognition disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis

Abstract:Objective:To summarize the best evidences on assessment and management of cognition disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis.Methods:According to the top-down principle of the evidence pyramid"6S"model,relevant evidences on assessment and management of cognition disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis were retrieved from various websites and databases.And retrieval time was from database establishment to October 19,2023.Two researchers independently conducted literature screening and quality evaluation.And evidences were extracted and graded for the included literature.Results:A total of 18 literature were included,including 1 clinical decision,1 evidence summary,2 guidelines,12 systematic reviews,and 2 expert consensus.The overall quality of the literature was high.A total of 25 evidences were summarized from 5 aspects,namely screening and assessment,cognitive rehabilitation,exercise intervention,physical intervention,psychological intervention and supportive coping strategies.Conclusions:The best evidences on assessment and management of cognition disorders in patients with multiple sclerosis summarized in this study have guiding implications for clinical nursing practice.Nurses could choose the best evidence according to the actual situation and apply it.
