Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of the virtual monitoring clinic(VMC)chronic disease management model in an internet-based hospital for patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods:A total of 40 RA patients who visited the outpatient clinic of Xinxiang Central Hospital from April to August 2022 were selected as the control group and received routine nursing care.Another 40 RA patients who visited the same hospital from September 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the observation group and received the VMC chronic disease management model. At the end of the intervention and at 3,6,9,and 12 months after intervention, the Disease Activity Score 28(DAS28),Visual Analog Scale(VAS),Health Assessment Questionnaire(HAQ),Self Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),medication adherence, and follow-up adherence were compared between the two groups.Additionally, patient satisfaction with healthcare services was evaluated at 3 and 12 months after intervention. Results:At 9 and 12 months after intervention, the DAS28,VAS,HAQ,and SAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The between-group,time,and interaction effects for all scores were statistically significant(P<0.05).The medication adherence rate and follow-up adherence rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at 9 and 12 months after intervention(P<0.05).Conclusions:The application of the VMC chronic disease management model in an internet-based hospital for RA patients helps alleviate physical symptoms, reduce their anxiety, improve their adherence, and enhance their satisfaction with healthcare services.
