Evaluation study on the clustering of health resources in nursing homes in China from 2012 to 2021

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the allocation of health resources in nursing homes from 2012 to 2021,and to provide a decision-making reference for the high-quality development of nursing care.Methods:The accessibility and equity of nursing home institutional resources in China from 2012 to 2021 was studied by clustering degree.Results:The total number of nursing homes in China was 849 in 2021,with an average annual growth rate of 30.95%;the number of nursing home beds in China was 119,091 in 2021,with an average annual growth rate of 29.69%;the overall change in the number of professional and technical personnel in nursing homes was small in the period of 2012-2021;the number of professional and technical personnel in nursing homes in the period of 2012-2021,the HRAD values in the eastern region were all greater than 1,and the HRAD values in the central and western regions were all less than 1 in 2012-2021;the HRAD/PAD values in the eastern region of China were all greater than 1 in 2012-2021,and the central and western regions were all greater than 1 in 2012-2021.The HRAD/PAD values in the eastern region of China from 2012 to 2021 were all greater than 1,and the HRAD/PAD values in the central and western regions from 2012 to 2021 were all less than 1.Conclusions:The number of nursing homes and the number of beds in China maintains the trend of growth,but the urban-rural and typological distribution of nursing homes is relatively unbalanced;the quantitative allocation of human resources in nursing homes is lacking;and there are regional variations in the accessibility and fairness of institutional resources in nursing homes.
