Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of nurse-led blood glucose monitoring in patients in emergency intensive care unit. Methods:A total of 112 patients admitted to the emergency intensive care unit of our hospital from April 2021 to April 2022 were selected. The patients were divided into control group and observation group with 56 cases in each group by random number table method.Patients in control group received routine blood glucose management, and patients in observation group received nurse-led blood glucose monitoring intervention based on routine nursing.Blood glucose control effect, blood glucose variability and prognosis were compared between the two groups. Results:When they were transferred out of ICU,the blood glucose standard time of observation group patients were shorter than that of control group patients, the daily insulin dosage were less than that of control group patients(P<0.05).The incidence of stress hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia in observation group patients were lower than that in control group patients(P<0.05).The mean blood glucose, standard deviation of blood glucose, coefficient of variation of blood glucose and fluctuation range of average blood glucose in observation group patients were lower than those in control group patients(P<0.05).The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)scores,APACHE Ⅱ scores in the observation group patients were lower than those in the control group patients(P<0.05).Conclusions:The application of nurse-led blood glucose monitoring mode in emergency intensive care unit could effectively control blood glucose level, reduce blood glucose variability, and further improve the prognosis.
