Chinese version of the Daily Time Management Scale and its reliability and validity test

Abstract：Objective:To translate the Daily Time Management Scale(DTMS)into Chinese,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:The Brislin translation model was used to translate the DTMS,and the Chinese version of DTMS was formed after cultural adjustment through expert consultation and pre-survey.A total of 300 patients with type 2 diabetes for cross-sectional investigation were selected by convenience sampling method to test the reliability and validity of Chinese version of DTMS.Results:The analysis results of Chinese version of DTMS showed that all items were reasonably designed and well distinguished.The item-level content validity index(I-CVI)ranged from 0.875 to 1.000,and the scale-level content validity index(S-CVI)was 0.928.Exploratory factor analysis extracted three common factors,and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 64.695%.The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.864,and the Cronbach's α coefficients of the three dimensions were 0.851,0.834 and 0.746,respectively.The retest reliability was 0.845.The Chinese version of DTMS included 16 items in three dimensions:coordination between job satisfaction and life fulfillment,adjustment of life pace,and overall consideration of goal orientation.Conclusions:The Chinese version of DTMS had good reliability and validity in the application of type 2 diabetes patients,and it could be used as an effective tool to evaluate the daily time management of type 2 diabetes patients.
