Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of self-care intervention based on transtheoretical model in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema. Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, totally 70 patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema who were treated in the lymphedema clinic of the breast department of a tertiary A hospital in Taiyuan from May 2022 to May 2023 were selected as research objects and randomly divided into control group and observation group. The control group was given routine health education, and the observation group was given self-care intervention based on cross-theoretical model. The intervention period was 3 months. Results:A total of 33 cases in the control group and 34 cases in the observation group had completed the study. After intervention, the activity and disease management, limb protection, skin care, continuity dimension scores of self-care,and total score of Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema Self-Care Behavior Scale in the observation group were higher than those in the control group. And the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total score of the Chinese version of the Self-Management Efficacy Scale in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. And the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After one month and three months of intervention, the score of the Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema Prevention Behavior Survey Scale in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. And the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the intervention, the score of Symptom Index Scale of Breast Cancer in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,There was statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The self-care intervention based on the transtheoretical model could improve the self-care ability of patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema, enhance self-management efficacy, improve self-care compliance. And it could reduce the severity of lymphedema-related symptoms as well.It is conducive to the long-term management of breast cancer-related lymphedema patients by medical staff and provides reference for clinical intervention.
