Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of evidence-based nursing practice in related pressure injury(PI)of artificial airway among adult intensive care unit(ICU)patients. Methods:A total of 214 ICU patients from a tertiary grade A hospital in Jilin province were selected as the study subjects from July to December 2023.108 patients admitted from July to September 2023 were selected as the control group, and 106 patients admitted from October to December 2023 were selected as the intervention group. The endotracheal tubes of the patients in the control group were routinely maintained by the responsible nurse according to the nursing method of artificial airway in the"Nursing Routine for Critically Ill Patients"compiled by our hospital. The intervention group guided nursing practice based on evidenc-based outcomes. The knowledge score of PI precautions related to artificial airway, implementation rate of review items, and incidence of artificial airway-related PI were compared between the two groups. Results:The scores of nursing assessment, catheter frenulum application, dressing application, skin care, nutritional support, sedation restraint, and total knowledge score of PI precautions related to artificial airway were higher than those in the control group, and the difference were statistically significant(all P<0.05).Nurses in the control group had only 4 review items with implementation rate>80%,while nurses in the intervention group had 12 review items with implementation rate>80%.The incidence of artificial airway-related PI in the intervention group was 8.49%,which was lower than that in the control group(20.37%),and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.014).Conclusions:Evidence-based nursing practice can improve the awareness rate of knowledge score of PI precautions related to artificial airway of ICU nurses,it can also improve the compliance with review items and reduce the incidence of artificial airway-related PI.
