Application of social skills training combined with calligraphy and painting training intervention based on mode of human occupation theory in patients with chronic schizophrenia

Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of social skills training combined with calligraphy and painting training intervention based on mode of human occupation(MOHO)theory in patients with chronic schizophrenia.Methods:A total of 100 patients with chronic schizophrenia admitted to the Department of Mental Rehabilitation in Nanjing You'an Hospital were selected as the study subjects from February 28,2022 to March 31,2023.Patients were divided into control group and an experimental group by random number table method,with 50 cases in each group.The control group received routine nursing care,while the experimental group received social skills training combined with calligraphy and painting training intervention based on MOHO theory on the basis of the control group.the rehabilitation outcomes and social skills between two groups of patients were compared.Results:During the research process,there were no dropouts in the control group,4 dropouts in the experimental group,and finally 50 patients were included in the control group and 46 patients were included in the experimental group.The scores of Inpatient Psychiatric Rehabilitation Outcome Scale(IPROS)of patients showed time,inter group,and interaction effects.After 4 weeks of intervention,the IPROS score in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of Social Skills Checklist(SSC)of patients showed time,inter group,and interaction effects.After 4 weeks of intervention,the SSC score in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions:The social skills training combined with calligraphy and painting training intervention based on MOHO theory is beneficial for promoting the rehabilitation and social skills recovery of patients with chronic schizophrenia.
