Observation on therapeutic effect of Yiqi Tongfu abdominal massage on constipation of Qi deficiency type in stroke patients

Abstract：Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of Yiqi Tongfu abdominal massage on constipation of Qi deficiency type in stroke patients.Methods:Random sampling was used to select patients with constipation of Qi deficiency after stroke who were hospitalized in the Rehabilitation Department of Bao 'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February to November 2023.The patients were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,with 34 cases in each group.The control group was given conventional treatment and traditional Chinese medicine nursing for stroke,and the experimental group was given Yiqi Tongfu abdominal massage on the basis of conventional treatment and nursing.The time of first defecation,the number of spontaneous complete bowel movements per week,the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score of constipation of Qi deficiency,the score of the main symptoms of constipation,and the constipation quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results:The time of first defecation in the experimental group was 20.00(10.00,24.25)h,which was shorter than that in the control group[24.00(20.75,36.00)h].After intervention,the number of spontaneous complete bowel movements per week in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group.After intervention,the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score of constipation of Qi deficiency,the score of the main symptoms of constipation,and the constipation quality of life of constipation of Qi deficiency in the two groups were reduced,and the scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group in the same period,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The application of Yiqi Tongfu abdominal massage on constipation of Qi deficiency type in stroke patients can alleviate the symptoms of constipation and improve the quality of life of patients.
