Status quo and influencing factors of willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the status quo of willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women and to analyze its influencing factors.Methods:A total of 1 475 pregnant and postpartum women from 30 provinces in China were selected as subjects by convenience sampling method.Self-made questionnaires were used for investigation from September to December 2023.And univariate and Logistic regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women.Results:Among the 1 475 pregnant and postpartum women,392(26.58%)had willingness to reproduce.The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that age,occupation,job title,ideal number of children,current number of children,gender willingness of children to reproduce,short videos of fertility anxiety and warm short videos of maternal and infant care,average daily time spent watching short videos had effects on willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women(P<0.05).Conclusions:The willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women is not high.It is suggested that relevant departments should actively take measures to address the influencing factors of willingness to reproduce among pregnant and postpartum women.We should increase support for inclusive maternity services and childcare services,reduce the cost of parenting,improve the welfare of childbirth and supervision system of short media videos,so as to create favorable fertility environment.
