Chinesization of Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire and its reliability and validity test

Abstract：Objective:To sinicize Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire and to test its reliability and validity in hypertensive patients.Methods:According to the Brislin translation model,Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire was translated.Cross-cultural adaptation and pre-investigation were conducted.And the Chinese version of Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire was formed.A total of 447 hypertensive patients from 2 tertiary hospitals in Zhengzhou were selected as the survey subjects by convenience sampling method from May 2021 to April 2023 to test the reliability and validity of the scale.Results:The Chinese version of Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire included 4 dimensions(knowledge of cardiovascular disease risk and prevention,perceived risk of heart attack/stroke,perceived benefits and intention to change behaviour and healthy eating intentions)with 26 items.The reliability and validity test was carried out based on the 18 items in the 3 dimensions of the scale,included the perceived risk of heart attack/stroke,perceived benefits and intention to change behaviour and healthy eating intentions,showed that scale-content validity index was 0.977,item-level content validity index were ranged from 0.813 to 1.000.The cumulative variance contribution rate of the 3 common factors with eigenvalues greater than 1 extracted by exploratory factor analysis was 77.392%,and the results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the equation fit well.The absolute risk perception items in the single-item cardiovascular disease risk perception assessment tool were used as the criterion,and the criterion-related validity of each dimension of the scale were ranged from 0.563 to 0.605(all P<0.001).The Cronbach's α coefficient of each dimension of the scale were ranged from 0.871 to 0.964,the split-half reliability were ranged from 0.875 to 0.968,and the test-retest reliability were ranged from 0.853 to 0.896.Conclusions:The Chinese version of Attitude and Beliefs about Cardiovascular Disease Knowledge and Risk Questionnaire has good reliability and validity,which is suitable for the assessment of cardiovascular disease risk attitude and belief in hypertensive patients in China.
