Study on the allocation and equity of nursing human resources in Shanxi province from 2015 to 2022

Abstract：Objective:To analyze the allocation and equity of nursing human resources in Shanxi province from 2015 to 2022,and to provide targeted suggestions for the rational allocation of nursing human resources in Shanxi province.Methods:Based on the data published by Shanxi Statistical Yearbook and Shanxi Health Statistical Yearbook from 2015 to 2022,the concentration degree of health resources to evaluate the concentration degree of nursing human resources in geographical space was calculated by quantitative analysis tools,the Lorenz curve was drawn to visually show the equality of nursing resource allocation,and Gini coefficient and Theil index were applied to quantify the inequality of resource allocation.Results:The total number of registered nurses in Shanxi province showed steady growth trend from 2015 to 2022,with average annual growth rate of 6.05%.Compared with the geographical distribution,the equity of nursing human resources allocation according to population size was more significant.The distribution of nursing human resources was unbalanced among regions,the concentration degree of nursing human resources in northern Shanxi region and central Shanxi region were both>1,the concentration degree of nursing human resources in south Shanxi region was≤1,and the Thiel index in central Shanxi region was higher than that in northern Shanxi region and south Shanxi region.The number of nurses in urban hospitals was much more than that in district and county hospitals.Conclusions:The total amount of nursing human resources in Shanxi province has been steadily increasing,and there is a tendency to concentrate in central Shanxi region.Relevant departments should comprehensively consider social factors such as population aging and disease spectrum changes,and take targeted measures to guide the reasonable flow of nursing human resources.
