Status quo and influencing factors of complications after painless transesophageal echocardiography

Abstract:Objective:To investigated the status quo of complications after painless transesophageal echocardiography(TEE),and analyzed the influencing factors.Methods:A total of 396 hospitalized patients who underwent painless TEE examination at Peking University Third Hospital were selected as the research subjects from December 2021 to May 2023.The general information and incidence of complications after painless TEE examination were investigated.Results:Among 396 patients,51 cases(12.9%)experienced examination related complications.The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that age and examination position were the influencing factors for the occurrence of complications after painless TEE examination(P<0.05).Conclusion:The incidence of complications after painless TEE examination is relatively low,and left lateral position examination can further reduce the occurrence of aspiration pneumonia.Elderly patients need to receive more nursing measures to reduce the occurrence of complications.
