Chinese version of the Hospice Comfort Questionaire and its reliability and validity test

Abstract：Objective:To translate the Hospice Comfort Questionaire(HCQ)into Chinese,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods:The Chinese version of HCQ was formed through translation,back translation,cross-cultural debugging and pre-investigation.A total of 310 patients were selected by convenience sampling method to test its reliability and validity.Results:The Chinese version of HCQ included 24 items in 4 dimensions,namely,physiology,environment,sociocultural and psychological.The content validity index(I-CVI)at item level of the scale ranged from 0.890 to 1.000,and the average scale-level content validity index(S-CVI/Ave)of the scale was 0.981.Exploratory factor analysis extracted 4 common factors,and the cumulative contribution rate of variance was 61.384%.Confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fitted well.The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.880,and the retest reliability was 0.856.Conclusions:The Chinese version of HCQ has good reliability and validity,and it can effectively evaluate the comfort of patients during hospice care.
