Abstract：Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) promoted early rehabilitation of surgical patients by optimizing organ function before operation, alleviating adverse stress reaction caused by operation.The main contents of ERAS included preoperative counseling, nutrition optimization, standardized analgesia and early activities.Although there were a lot of evidences that ERAS could benefit patients, the implementation of ERAS in clinical practice had been slow because ERAS challenged traditional surgical principles.It reviewed the basic principles medical effect and economic benefit, multidisciplinary cooperation, related guidelines and expert consensus of ERAS, and the monitoring of ERAS.
