Influence of video education combined with teach-back on self-care ability and quality of life of patients with enterostomy

Abstract：Objective:To explore the influence of video education combined with teach-back on self-nursing ability and quality of life of enterostomy patients.Methods:From January 2016 to December 2016, 23 patients with enterostomy in our department were selected as control group, and 25 patients with enterostomy in our department from February 2017 to November 2017 were selected as observation group.The patients in both groups were given routine nursing care and health education during rectal cancer radical operation.The patients in observation group adopted video education combined with health education on the basis of routine health education in the control group.The self-care ability scale, quality of life scale and satisfaction scale were issued by the responsible nurses on the day of discharge before the opening of the patient undefineds opening.Results:The self-nursing ability, quality of life and satisfaction were significantly higher in the observation group than those in the control group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:The combination of video education and teach-back health education was an effective method, which could improve the self-care ability, quality of life and satisfaction of enterostomy patients.
