Correlation research between social support ,psychological capital,and occupational commitment of intern nursing students in college

Abstract:Objective:To explore the status quo of social support,psychological capital,and occupational commitment of intern nursing students in college,and to define their correlation model.Methods:A total of 639 intern nursing students in college from 4 medical col-leges in Shandong province were involved in this study.The general information questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,College Students'Psychological Capital Questionnaire,and Nursing Occupational Commitment Scale were used to investigate,and structural equation model was used for data analysis.Results:The average scores of social support,psychological capital,and occupational com-mitment of intern nursing students in college were(3.34 ± 0.51) points,(3.90 ± 0.49) points,and (2.76 ± 0.67) points,respectively. Social support had a direct (positive) effect on both psychological capital (β=0.26,P<0.05) and occupational commitment (β= 0.24, P<0.05).psychological capital had a direct (positive) effect on occupational commitment (β=0.43,P<0.05).Social support could indirectly affect occupational commitment through the psychological capital.Conclusion:College educators and managers should take various measures to help college intern nursing students getting more social support,pay attention to develop and cultivate intern nursing students’ psychological capital,in order to the stabilize and enhance their occupational commitment level and finally promote the development of nursing.
