Investigation on Kano model analysis technology for supportive care needs in pediatric inpatients
Abstract:Objective:To explore the characteristics of supportive care needs of pediatric inpatients by using Kano model analysis tech-nology,and to provide evidences for improving the quality of nursing service for hospitalized children.Methods:A total of 300 parents of hospitalized children from convenient sampling were investigated with a self-designed questionnaire for supportive care needs of pediatric inpatients by using Kano model,to make the attributes of supportive care needs.Results:There were 6 essential attributes (25%),8 desirable attributes(33%),9 attractive attributes(38%),and 1 independent attributes(4%).In the quadrant analysis, there were 10 requirements in the dominant area and 7 requirements in the improved area.Conclusions:Pediatric nursing managers can put the service contents on key projects according to the results of Kano model analysis,and on the basis of the essential attributes of satisfying the patients,it is possible to meet the desired attributes of the patients,so as to achieve continuous improvement of nurs-ing quality of pediatric inpatient.
