Study on status quo and influencing factors of self-perceived burden of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the status quo of self-perceived burden of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and analyze the influential factors.Method:A total of 144 patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and their caregivers were investigated by a general data questionnaire,a modified amyotrophic lateral sclerosis scale,a self-perceived burden scale, and a Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale.Result:Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patient self-perceived burden was(24.51±11.22) points,at a mild level;multivariate stepwise regression analysis showed that the main factors affecting the self-perceived burden of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients were gender respiratory dysfunction, understanding of the disease and caregiver burden (P<0.05).Conclusions:Self-perceived burden was common in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and caregivers should value the assessment of patients' self-perceived burden and explore better treatments and care programme to reduce the patient's self-perceived burden.
