Analysis of clinical outcomes and related factors in patients with diabetic foot after discharge
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical outcomes of diabetic foot patients after discharge and to analyze the influencing factors of different clinical outcomes.Methods:350 cases of diabetic foot patients who were discharged after hospitalization from January 2011 to July 2016 were selected,telephone follow-up was used to understand the outcome of the patient after discharge,single factor analysis was used to compare the general data,clinical data and other complications of the patients with different outcomes and Logistic regression analysis was used to analysis the major risk factors affecting patients' outcomes after discharge.Results:of the 350 patients,68 patients(19.4 %) died after discharge,and 185 patients (52.9%) remained stable after discharge,and 97 patients(27.7%) developed diabetic foot recurrence.Logistic regression analysis showed that the age,body mass index,extrinsic incentives of diabetic foot and the interval between discharge and follow-up were the major risk factors for the death of the discharged patients;Gender,the course of diabetes foot and the interval between discharge and follow-up were the major risk factors of the recurrence of patients with diabetic foot after discharge.Conclusions:The recurrence rate and the mortality rate of patients with diabetic foot after discharge were high,we should strengthen the management of discharged patients,especially the elderly,men,abnormal BMI,no extrinsic incentives diabetic foot and diabetic foot patients with longer course of disease and provide a lasting continuous of medical services to improve the clinical outcome of the patient after discharge.
