Effect research on Sandwich teaching method on improving core competency of internship nursing students
Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of Sandwich teaching method on improving core competency of internship nursing students.Methods:A total of 86 nursing students in 2011 were selected as the control group to carry out the regular clinical teaching model and 108 nursing students in 2012 as the experimental group.The Sandwich teaching method was implemented on the basis of the regular clinical teaching model.After the internship,the comprehensive case examination score,core competency,nurse-patient communication skills and the satisfaction of teaching-level nursing students in 2012 were compared.Results:The score of comprehensive case examination was(88.08± 3.35),core competency (141.64 ± 54.61) and nurse-patient communication skills (176.39±20.34).In the experimental group,they were all higher than those in the control group (85.73±2.80,112.64±33.72,166.07±13.04),the difference was statistically significant (P＜0.05).Most of the nursing students in the experimental group were satisfied with the teaching arrangement,teaching preparation,teaching content and teaching effect.Conclusion:Sandwich teaching method helped to improve clinical practice teaching effect and improve core competency of nursing students.
