Correlations between organizational commitment and turnover intention of clinical nurses
Abstract:Objective:To understand the status quo of organizational commitment and turnover intention of clini-cal nurses in Shanxi Province,and to explore the effect of organizational commitment on turnover intention. Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 782 registered nurses in third grade A comprehensive hospitals in Shanxi Province by using the Chinese Employee's Organizational Commitment Scale and the Turn-over Intention Scale.Results:There was a significant linear relationship between clinical nurses'organizational commitment and turnover intention(P<0.01)and negative correlation.The regression analysis showed that e-motional commitment,ideal commitment,and normative commitment could jointly explain 37.0% of the total variance of turnover intention.The emotional commitment took the most important role to influence the turn-over intention.Conclusions:Organizational commitment was an important factor influencing turnover intention.
