Study on relationship between sleep status and blood pressure in high school students in Fenyang city Shanxi province

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the relationship between sleep status and blood pressure of high school students in Fenyang city Shanxi province,so as to provide scientific basis for reducing and preventing adolescents with hypertension.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted on 869 high school students in Fenyang middle school and fifth high school in Fenyang by using random cluster sampling method and general questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),and then to measure the height,weight and blood pressure of high school students,and read the body mass index(BMI).Results:The systolic and diastolic blood pressure of high school students increased with age,and the systolic and diastolic blood pressure of boys were higher than those of girls.There were statistically significant differences in sleep quality among the different ages of high school students(P<0.05).Among them,the detection rate of 16 years old and 17 years old of high school students was higher.There were statistically significant differences in blood pressure among the students with different subjective sleep quality,different sleep time,different hypnotic drugs and daytime dysfunction(P<0.05).Conclusions:The quality of sleep of high school students was associated with blood pressure,and should cause the government and the relevant medical units,the school's attention,to improve the quality of sleep of high school students to prevent adolescents with hypertension.
