Evaluation on effect of health education based on target management for improving self-care behavior of elderly patients with chronic hepatitis B
Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the effect of health education based on target management for improving self-care behavior of elderly patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods:Eighty-one elderly patients with chronic hepatitis B were divided into observation group(40 cases) and control group(41 cases) by random number table. The patients in control group were given routine health education, including the implementation of bedside missions and regular concentration missions by responsible nurses. The patients in observation group received target management based on that emphasizing more intervention of health care workers, emphasizing the patient taking "family" as a unit to participate in the target activities. The self-care behavior and quality of life of patients in two groups were evaluated by self-made self-care behavior scale and health questionnaire(SF-36)before and at 3 months after the intervention. Results:The scores of self-care behavior and quality of life in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusions:Health education based on the target management can effectively improve the self-care behavior of elderly patients with chronic hepatitis B and the quality of life of patients.
