Status quo of self-management of hypertension patients in urban communities of Sichuan and influence on their quality of life
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the self-management of hypertensive patients in urban communities in Sichuan Province,and to analyze the factors affecting the quality of life.Methods:A total of 2 399 hypertension patients'' self management and quality of life in urban communities in Sichuan Province were investigated by using the self rating scale of hypertension and the concise health measurement scale (SF-36),based on the cross-sectional study design and the convenience sampling method.Results:The total score of self-management of patients with hypertension in the community was (3.64±0.62),in which the score of life habits management(3.35±0.73) was the lowest,and the score of risk factor management(4.47±0.80) was the highest.The total quality of life score of patients with hypertension in the community was (72.47±17.40),and the score of physiological function dimension (80.37±19.09) was the highest,and the score of general health status (56.91±17.11) was the lowest.Correlation analysis between self-management and quality of life showed that the total average score of self-management,the score of treatment management,the score of sports management,the score of diet management,the score of life habit management,and the score of risk factors management were positively correlated with the quality of life (P=0.000).Conclusion:The self-management behaviors of community hypertension patients,especially the treatment management,sports management,catering management,life habit management should be further strengthened.Self-management behavior was helpful to improve the quality of life of patients with hypertension.
