Status quo of nursing undergraduates'belongingness and its influencing factors
Abstract:Objective:To explore the level of belongingness of undergraduate nursing students and its influencing factors,so as to provide a theoretical basis for nursing educators to improve students' sense of belonging.Methods:The General Belongingness Questionnaire,Social Connectedness Scale,the Revised Version of the Loneliness Scale,University of California at Los Angels(UCLA),Self-Esteem Scale,Subjective Well-Being Scale and Life Satisfaction Scales were used to investigated 389 sophomore and third-grade students of the nursing department with the method of convenience sampling.Results: In the 389 undergraduate nursing students,the overall score of the sense of belonging was(63.16±11.23),which in the medium and lower level,accounting for 88.24%.Multivariate stepwise linear regression showed that social association and loneliness were infunencing factors of sense of belonging.Conclusions: The sense of belonging of undergraduate nursing students was moderate,and it is influenced by social connection and loneliness.
