A qualitative study on psychological experience of poison suicide patients in emergency department intensive care unit
Abstract:Objective:To explore the true feelings and psychological experience of poisoning attempted suicide patients in the emergency intensive care unit(EICU).Methods:A semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted with 12 poisoning attempted suicide patients and analyzed the results by Colaizzi phenomenological research method.Results:Four themes were extracted from the poisoning attempted suicide patients on psychological experience in EICU: interpersonal conflict or loss,loneliness and helplessness,extremely bad mood and desperation.Conclusion:A systematic,specialized and characteristic intervention strategy should be made for management of EICU attempted suicide patients,in order to furthest reduce the re-suicide rate of attempted suicide patients in EICU and improve their quality of life.
