Status quo and correlation analysis of nurses'work environment and engagement in Tianjin

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the current situation of nurses'work environment and engagement,and analyze the influence of work environment on engagement.Methods:A total of 382 nurses in 5 third grade A general hospitals in Tianjin were selected as the research objects and investigated by the Practice Environment Scale (PES)and Gallup Workplace Audit(GWA).Results:Nurses'engagement average scores were 1.89±0.51,PES average scores were 3.03±0.43.There was a positive correlation between nurses'engagement and work environment score(P<0.01).The results of hierarchical regression analysis showed that the age,department and working environment were influencing factors on nurses'engagement.Conclusions:The managers should pay at-tention to improve the nurses'working environment and raise their engagement.
