Correlation research between hope level and psychosocial adaptation in patients with breast cancer during chemo-therapy

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the level of hope and psychosocial adaptation in patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy,and to analyze their correlation.Methods:A total of 320 postoperative patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy were investigated by Herth Hope Index and Self report Psycho social Adjust-ment to Illness Scale.Results:Breast cancer patients'hope level score during chemotherapy was 40.01±5.26,in high level.The score of psychosocial adaptation was 47.32±16.65,at medium level.The hope level in patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy was negatively correlated with the score of psychosocial adaptation(P<0.01).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that maintaining intimate relationship dimensions,econom-ic difficulties level,marital quality and personality optimism were the influencing factors of breast cancer pa-tients'psychosocial adaptation.Conclusions:The hope level of patients with breast cancer during chemotherapy was closely related to the level of psychosocial adaptation.Improving the hope level of patients could improve their psychosocial adaptation.
