Application of early stage pulmonary rehabilitation exercise in severe acute respiratory syndrome patients
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of early stage pulmonary rehabilitation exercise on patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)in intensive care unit (ICU).Methods:A total of 78 patients with ARDS who were hospitalized in the ICU from January 2013 to June 2015 were randomly divided into two groups. The 40 patients in traditional group received the conventional method of treatment in accordance with the consensus at home and abroad.38 patients in rehabilitation group received the early stage pulmonary reha-bilitation exercise based on the routine treatment.14 days were the observation period after patients'admission. The change of oxygenation index(PaO2/FiO2 )was observed before treatment,on the first day,the third day,the seventh day,and the 14th day after the treatment.Patients were treated with pulmonary rehabilitation therapy. The ICU hospital days, the patient using the ventilator and tube time, and incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP)were observed in two groups. Results:On the third day of early stage pulmonary rehabilita-tion exercise of ARDS patients, oxygenation index(PaO2/FiO2 )was improved significantly. The ventilator use time and tracheal tube time in rehabilitation group were shorter than those in control group,ICU hospital days were shortened to 2.46 days, reduce the incidence of complications was decreased 40%.Conclusion:early stage pulmonary rehabilitation exercise for ARDS patients could effectively improvethe patients'prognosis and oxy-genation index, shorten the mechanical ventilation time and ICU hospital days and reduce the incidence of venti-lator associated-pneumonia.
