Influence of pain management behavior on sleep quality of elderly patients with osteoporosis
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the effect of pain management behavior for improving sleep quality of elderly patients with osteoporosis.Methods:A total of 80 cases of elderly patients with osteoporosis who had sleep dis-orders were selected in the Affiliated Hospital of North China University of science and technology by Pitts-burgh sleep quality index(PSQI),and they were randomly divided into observation group and control group,40 cases in each.The patients in control group received the anti-osteoporosis basic treatment in combination with sleep knowledge health education,besides that the patients in observation group were given pain management skills training(patients'self behavior management combined with osteoporosis therapy instrument for treat-ment of pain)the PSQI score was compared after 4 weeks between two groups.Results:The self behavior man-agement ability of the patients in observation group was higher than that in control group after training(P<0.05). The total score of PSQI and scores of all dimensions of patients in observation group were decreased compared with that in control group except sleeping time,and there was statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Con-clusion:Patient's self-behavior management combined with osteoporosis treatment instrument could improve sleep quality of elderly patients.
