Preparation of empty nester social support scale and analysis of its reliability and validity
Abstract：Objective:To prepare the scale suitable for evaluating empty nester’s social support,and to carry out the reliability and validity test.Methods:The item pools of empty nester social support scale were prepared by interviews and expert consultation based on literature review.A total of 198 community empty nester received pre survey,and questionnaire was analyzed by Pearson correlation analysis,exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis methods.Results:Total Cronbach’sɑcoefficient of the scale was 0.803,and the content validity was 0. 958.Totally 4 dimensions and 19 items included the actual and behavior support,information support and emo-tional support were formed in Empty Nester social support scale.Conclusion:empty nester social support scale with good reliability and validity could be used to evaluate empty nester’s social support.
