Self management status quo and associated factors of diabetic patients in urban community in Sichuan province
Abstract：Objective:To know about the status quo of self management behavior of diabetes mellitus patients in urban community in Sichuan province and analyze its influencing factors.Methods:Questionnaires were conduc-ted to survey diabetic patients'self management behavior in 20 community health service centers in 12 cities in Sichuan province by convenient sampling method,and the influencing factors were analyzed.Results:A total of 1 812 questionnaires were distributed and 1 796 valid questionnaires were collected.The total score of self manage-ment was(3.25±0.46),including(3.15±0.54)in diet treatment,(2.93±0.66)in exercise treatment,(3.66± 0.80)in medicine treatment,(3.00±0.68)in blood glucose monitoring,and(3.22±0.83)in complications mo-nitoring(3.78±0.53)in risk factors.Multivariate regression analysis showed that the patients’location,age, whether treated by special clinic,whether in the community to establish health records,drug treatment style and family history had influence on self management behavior.Conclusions:The self management behavior of community diabetes patients in Sichuan province was poor and the influencing factors varied.In order to im-prove the self management behavior of patients,one could strengthen interregional cooperation and communi-cation,pay attention to the behavioral intervention for the younger patients and patients with shorter course of disease,advocate special outpatient service and establish personal health file.
