Survey of cognition of practice nursing students on suicide prevention of inpatients in general hospitals

Abstract：Objective:To probe into the cognitive status of practice nursing students on the suicide prevention of inpatients in general hospital,so as to provide references for nursing managers implementing the targeted suicide prevention and nursing training from nurses career sourse.Methods:The self designed cognitive questionnaire of practice nursing students was used to survey the suicide prevention of inpatients.A total of 325 practice nurs-ing students veceived site investigation by cross sectional survey.Results:The total average score of 325 practi-cal nursing students’cognition on suicide prevention of inpatients was(12.78±2.20),and the correct rate was 63.88%.The average score of suicide general knowledge was(7.52±1.69),and the correct rate was 62.64%. The average score of suicide prevention knowledge was(5.26±1.26),and the correct rate was 65.73%.There were statistically significant differences in the suicide prevention cognition score of inpatients in general hospital among different ages and education background of practice nursing students(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion:The cognitive level of practice nursing students on the suicide prevention of inpatients in general hospitals was not high.Nursing managers should carry out related training according to different educational level of nursing students and combined with the influencing factors,so as to improve the cognitive level of practice nursing students on the suicide prevention of inpatients in general hospital.
