Reliability and validity test of Evidence based Practice Competence Scale (Chinese Version)among nursing students in China

Abstract：Objective:To translate Evidence Based Practice Competence Questionnaire (EBP COQ)to Chinese and to evaluate its reliability and validity.Methods:The scale was introduced into China by using the interna-tional generalization program,namely “translation back translation cultural debugging pre experiment”. To assess the reliability and the validity of the scale by item analysis,exploratory factors analysis and confirma-tory factors analysis.Results:The content validity indexes of all items were over 0.8.The content validity index of the total scale was 0.95.The correlation coefficient between the items and the total score were 0.388 0.670. The critical values(CR)of all the items were more than 3.0.The exploratory factor analysis method extracted three common factors and retained 24 items.The cumulative variance contribution rate was 51.895%.The con-firmatory factor analysis model was well fitted[χ2/df=1.994,RMSEA=0.047,Adjusted goodness of fit index (AGFI)=0.901].Cronbach’sαcoefficient of the total scale was 0.889.Retest reliability was 0.941.Conclu-sions:The Chinese version of EBP COQ has good reliability and validity,which can be used to evaluate the a-bility of evidence based practice of undergraduate nursing students in China.
