Evaluation on wearing effect of hearing aids in elderly patients with hearing impairment and analysis of its influen-cing factors
Abstract：Objective:To evaluate the wearing effect of hearing aids in elderly patients with hearing impairment, and analyze the related influencing factors,in order to guide the correct usage of hearing aids in elderly patients with hearing impairment.Methods:A total of 40 cases of elderly patients with hearing impairment wearing hearing aids were selected from the department of ENT in first hospital of shanxi medical university.The wear-ing effect of hearing aids and satisfaction were evaluated by using the Client Oriented Scale of Improvement (COSI)and the Satisfaction with Amplification in Daily Life(SADL).Results:The 5 questions of patients trying to solve were watching TV,listening outdoor,family dinners,dialogue with a person and talking on the phone in turn in the COSI questionnaire.The level of improvement and the final capacity of patients with hearing aids for 3 months were higher than those after 1 month (P<0.05);The influencing factors of SADL scores included the degree of hearing loss,wearing time,and types of hearing aids (P<0.05).Conclusion:Wearing hearing aids can improve auditory function in different degrees for elderly patients with hearing impairment.The wearing effect of hearing aid was mainly affected by the degree of hearing loss,wearing time and other factors.
