Structural equation model of coping style,hope level and quality of life of patients after pituitary tumor surgery

Abstract：Objective:To probe into the relationship among coping style,hope level and quality of life of patients after pituitary tumor surgery.Methods:A total of 409 pituitary tumor patients who received surgery were select-ed in affiliated first hospital of Soochow University from January 2010 to October 2014,then they were investi-gated by using self made pituitary adenoma postoperative general information questionnaire,SF 3 6 Chinese version medical coping questionnaire and Herth hope index scale,and to establish the structural equation model of coping style,hope level and quality of life of patients after pituitary adenoma surgery.Results:The scores of face,avoidance and resignation in coping style of patients after pituitary adenoma surgery were respectively(18.22± 3.90),(17.35±3.32),and (9.27±2.39);the score of hope level was(34.39±3.21);and there were 8 dimen-sions of quality of life which included physical function,physical role,bodily pain,general health,vitality,social function,emotional role,mental health;their scores were respectively (84.59±11.69),(33.44±12.33),(43.97± 10.90),(45.53±12.29),(53.64±11.45),(57.97±18.13),(41.73±17.86),(53.57±11.40);facing dimen-sion score had a positive effect for hope level score(β=0.053,P<0.01),also had a direct positive effect for the quality of life score(β=0.491,P<0.01);resignation dimension score had a direct negative effect for hope level score(β=-0.049,P<0.05),also had a direct negative effect for the quality of life score(β=-1.456,P<0.01);the hope level score had a direct positive effect for the quality of life score(β=1.512,P<0.01).Conclusion:The hope level of patients after pituitary adenoma surgery could directly influence their quality of life,and the coping style had a direct or indirect effect for the quality of life.
