Status quo and influencing factors of community elderly’s daily living ability
Abstract:Objective:To understand the status quo and influencing factors of activities of daily livings of the eld-erly,and so as to provide the theoretical basis for corresponding nursing care.Methods:The Barthel Index Ques-tionnaire was used to investigate 1 208 elderly people who were 60 years old or older in some communities in Weifang City in Shandong Province by stratified random sampling method.Results:There were 1 208 elderly people in Weifang community with(69.18±7.51)years old.The influence of age,marital status,educational level,chronic diseases and physical exercise on activities of daily living of the elderly had statically significant difference(P<0.05).The logistic stepwise regression analysis showed that age,marital status,chronic disease and physical exercise were the influencing factors of the elderly activities of daily living in Weifang(P<0.05). Conclusion:For the elderly,spouse and physical exercise were the protective factors of the daily living ability of the elderly;age and chronic disease are risk factors.Different nursing services should be provided according to different daily living ability and different nursing needs in order to promote the elderly’s quality of life of the elderly.
