Analysis of emotional comfort demand of the elderly at home in community in Xianning city and its influencing fac-tors
Abstract：Objective:To probe into emotional comfort demand of the elderly at home in community in Xianning city and its influencing factors.Methods:A total of 476 elderly at home in 4 communities in Xianning city were randomly selected for the questionnaire.Results:The total score for emotional comfort demand was(9.25±3.09);the top two demands were neighborhood mutual assistance(2.61±0.95)and volunteers companying(1.96±1.05);the lowest demand was remarriage(1.14±0.54).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education lev-el,marital status,self rated health status,living condition and depression status were the maj or factors affect-ing the emotional comfort demand of the elderly,which explained 1 1 .7% of the total variance.Conclusion:Ori-ented by the demands of the elderly,further emotional comfort services should be provided in multi level and multi faceted in order to realize the healthy aging.
