Analysis of application effect of self management model based on empowerment theory in discharge preparation of patients with stroke

Abstract：Objective:To probe into the application effect of self management model based on empowerment the-ory in discharge preparation of patients with stroke.Methods:A total of 93 cases of stroke patients in a third grade A Hospital were randomly divided into two groups,the patients in observation group (n = 45 )received nursing with self management discharge preparation service model based on empowerment theory,the patients in control group(n=48)received routine care,and to compare the scores of patients’self efficacy,chronic dis-ease self management behavior,self care ability,quality of life,depression between both groups.Results:3 months after discharge,the scores of self efficacy,chronic disease self management behavior,self care ability and quality of life in observation group were higher than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05);depression score was lower than that in control group,the difference was statistically sig-nificant(P < 0.05 ).Conclusion:Self management model based on empowerment theory was beneficial to dis-charge preparation and extension service of patients with stroke.
