Abstract:Objective:To establish the safety management model for children patients,in order to reduce the oc-currence of all kinds of safety problems,so that PICC can be better used in Clinic. Methods:The failure mode and effect analysis(FMEA)method were used to evaluate risk factors;listing all failure modes, selecting 6 high-est failure models in risk priority number(RPN),and analyzing the influencing factors to formulate the perfect safety management measures and safety management model. Results:After the establishment of safety manage-ment model, the RPN value of the failure models was lower than that of the former, and the complication of PICC catheter and unplanned extubation rate were statistically significant decreased(P<0.05).Conclusion:By using the FMEA method, all kinds of unsafe factors could be evaluated in advance.According to the evaluation results, the standard safety management model could effectively prevent the risk of PICC,and reduce the com-plication and the unplanned extubation rate.
