Development of physical restraint scale for nurses in grave surgical department

Abstract：Objective:To develop an evaluation tool of knowledge attitude practice for nurse’s physical re-straint in grave surgical department,and to construct a evaluation scale for measuring the knowledge,attitude and behavior level of nurse’s physical restraint in grave surgical department.Methods:The evaluation index sys-tem of knowledge attitude practice for nurse’s physical restraint was preliminarily designed,two rounds of e-valuation indexes were verified by 20 experts by using the Delphi method,as well as testing the reliability and validity of scale.Results:The evaluation tool of knowledge attitude practice for nurse’s physical restraint in grave surgical department included three firstly indexes(knowledge,attitude and behavior)and six secondary in-dexes(self care level,equipment level,behavior level,physical restraint reason,measures of physical restraints, nursing of physical restraint),a total of 73 indexes.The content validity of the scale(CVI)was 0.912.The cor-relation coefficient between the items and the total score was 0.34~0.61.The total Cronbach’sαcoefficient was 0.865.And the retest reliability was 0.851.Conclusion:Physical restraint scale for nurses in grave surgical department could be used as an evaluation tool for the measurement of the level of knowledge attitude practice for nurse’s physical restraint in grave surgical department.
