Investigation on cognitive status of head nurses about horizontal violence among nurses in a certain area

Abstract：Objective:To know about the status quo of cognition of hospital nursing managers on lateral violence between nurses.Methods:A total of 174 head nurses received questionnaire by using questionnaire of cognition of head nurses on lateral violence.Results:The frequency of lateral violence in the nursing team which the head nurses were in was higher,and the hidden violence was main;some head nurses had experienced the lateral vio-lence;67 head nurses had experienced the explicit violence;104 head nurses had experienced the recessive vio-lence;the treatment style of head nurses to lateral violence was mainly resolving themselves within a team;18 head nurses reported to superiors.Conclusion:Head nurses had some cognition on lateral violence,but the cog-nition on prevention of lateral violence was lack,only limiting the influence of head nurses’power and non power.They considered the coping of lateral violence from the whole or part,but didn't consider the prevention and reduction of lateral violence between nurses from system construction and warning evaluation.
