Information of patients with breast cancer in different stages and their care needs

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the information of patients with breast cancer in different stages and their care needs.Methods:A total of 1 6 1 patients with breast cancer were surveyed using self designed question-naire.Results:Patients with breast cancer obtained the most knowledge from radio television and print media , respectively 59.6% and 57.8%,32.3% of patients acquired knowledge through the network,29.8% of explai-ning patients acquired knowledge through medical system.83.2% of patients hoped to acquire knowledge through from doctors or nurses,at the same time the patients would have better understanding and execution a-bout hospital providing education.The patients satisfied with obtaining information during surgery most,ac-counting for 48.4%.Patients hoped that nurses were health education providers during treatment and rehabili-tation.Conclusion:Fewer patients with breast cancer obtained information and knowledge through the health care system and the network platform.Information needs of patients at all stages were not the same,nurses could provide information support in treatment and continued care of patients with breast cancer and play a role of breast specialist nurse,in order to improve the patients’quality of life and satisfaction,embody the value of clinical nurse specialist.
