Meta analysis on passive smoking rate among Chinese residents from 2001 to 2012
Abstract:Objective:Meta analysis was used to systematic evaluate the passive smoking rate among Chinese residents,in order to provide reference for making relevant smoking control regulations and carrying out targe-ted tobacco control action.Methods:It searched PubMed,CNKI,Wanfangdata,VIP and CBM database to collect the literatures on the passive smoking rate among Chinese residents from 2001 to 2015.The software CMA V2 was used for Meta analysis.Results:A total of 41 literatures were included,totally 432 5 1 1 non smokers and 181 1 96 second hand smokers.Meta analysis showed that the passive smoking rate among Chinese residents was 45.1%.Stratified analysis showed the following results:41.9% and 46.4% for male and female residents. 44.2% and 52.3% for residents in eastern and Midwest China.42.8% and 46.1% for urban and rural resi-dents.28.8%,33.2% and 71.0% respectively in public place,workplace and family.The passive smoking rate among genders,research areas,regions and places were statistically significant different.The passive smoking rate among Chinese residents (53.3%,46.1% and 43.4% for 2001 2004,2005 2008 and 2009 2012)showed a downward trend.Conclusion:The passive smoking rate among Chinese residents was higher,but showed a downward trend,and it was different in genders,research areas,regions and places.
