Influence of drug compliance treatment on prognosis of first episode schizophrenic patients

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of drug compliance treatment on prognosis of first episode schizophrenic patients.Methods:A total of 80 first episode schizophrenic patients were randomly divided into control group and observation group,40 cases in each.The patients in control group received the routine health education in psychiatry,while the patients in observation group received the intervention of drug treatment com-pliance.The patients in two groups were followed up for 6 months,and then to evaluate them respectively be-fore the intervention,3 and 6 months after the intervention by the insight and treatment attitude questionnaire table(ITAQ),brief psychiatric rating scale(BPRS)and social disability screening scale(SDSS)and medication compliance,recurrence rate.Results:The differences of BPRS,ITAQ and SDSS scores in two groups between 3 months and 6 months after intervention were statistically significant(P <0.05).The differences of medication compliance and recurrence rate in two groups between 3 months and 6 months after intervention were statisti-cally significant(P <0.05).Conclusion:The drug compliance treatment could increase the understanding of dis-ease and treatment of first episode schizophrenic patients,and improving drug compliance and reducing recur-rence had a certain role in promoting the recovery of patients’social function.
