Study on establishment of type 2 diabetic rat model using high fat diet combined with streptozotocin
Abstract：Objective:To probe into a stable and simple model of type 2 diabetic rats.Methods:A total of 40 male rats without specific pathogen level were randomly divided into modeling group(30 rats)and control group (10 rats)by using a random number table method,the rats in modeling group were intraperitoneal injected with streptozotocin (STZ)after high fat diet,while the rats in control group were injected with equal volume of buffer,monitoring the two groups of fasting blood glucose,weight,water intake,urine volume.Results:The blood glucose and water intake of the model group were significantly higher than that in control group(P <0.01), the number of success establishment of model was 25,and its success rate was 83.33%.Conclusion:High fat di-et combined with intraperitoneal injection of STZ to establish the model of type 2 diabetes rats was simple and had higher success rate,which was an ideal method of making model.
