Influence of nursing intervention on relapse of patients with ulcerative colitis

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of nursing intervention on the relapse of patients with ulcerative colitis.Methods:A total of 118 patients diagnosed with chronic relapse type of ulcerative colitis who hospitalized in department of gastroenterology from January 2013 to December 2014 were selected and they were given nurs-ing intervention including health education,medication guide,dietary guidance,psychological counseling and life activities guide.After the follow up for 2 years,the patients’cognition to the disease and the relapse rate of the disease were compared before and after the intervention,then to analyze the related factors of disease relapse. Results:After nursing intervention,patients’knowledge about the ulcerative colitis,dietary structure adjust-ment,medication compliance and life behavior styles was improved significantly compared with that before in-tervention(P<0.05).In 2 years after intervention,the rate of relapse of all patients decreased significantly.Ma-intenance therapy,diet control,and mental state were related to the disease relapse.Conclusion:Nursing inter-ventions including health education,medication guidance,dietary guidance,psychological guidance and life be-havior style guidance were benefit to improve the patients’cognition about ulcerative colitis,decrease the rate of relapse and improve the quality of life of patients.
