Influence of spiritual concern on psychological status of esophageal cancer patients complicated with depression
Abstract：Objective:To probe into the effect of spiritual concern for easing depression degree of esophageal cancer patients,so as to improve the quality of life of patients with advanced cancer.Methods:A total of 50 e-sophageal cancer patients with depression were selected and divided into control group and observation group,25 cases in each.The patients in control group received the routine antidepressant treatment and nursing,while the patients in observation group received the spiritual concern on the basis of routine drug treatment and nursing, twice a week.The Beck self rating depression scale was used to evaluate the effect before intervention and a month after the intervention.Results:There were statistically significant differences in the depression scores be-tween both groups after the intervention (P<0.01),and there was statistically significant difference in depres-sion score of patients in observation group before interuention and after intervention (P<0.01).Conclusion:The spiritual concern can improve the patients’depression status,help the patients to face the disease correctly, and improve the patients’quality of life.
